About the Training Delivery & Performance Team:

The Training Delivery & Performance Team consist of learning professionals that lead the development and implementation of contemporary learning programs and systems in line with the CFA's Strategic Training Plan.

The team develop and design learning that inspires, supports and builds the capacity of CFA volunteer members. Using innovative methodologies and technologies, we champion adaptive, self-directed and immersive learning while promoting best practice in adult learning.

About the Role:

As Learning Designer, you will contribute to leading edge thinking, know-how and practical skills to create and oversee the development of quality learning content. You will use your creative thinking to drive new ideas and your passion for bringing engaging learning experiences to life. Using a collaborative approach, you will work confidently with stakeholders and SMEs within and outside the organisation to design, develop and oversee the delivery of digital and blended learning to support capability and capacity building programs. Further detailed responsibilities are found in the Position Description and will include:

  • Leading the development of digital learning packages in line with agreed learning models and frameworks.
  • Developing and leading Learning Communities of Practice that engage the expertise of Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts and/or Instructors in the development of digital content.
  • Collaborating with Emergency Management Service partner organisations and government bodies and contributing to emergency services sector-wide development of learning programs.
  • Actively developing and sustaining internal and external partnerships ensuring collaborative co-design and development of programs.

About You:

To succeed in this key role, you will hold relevant tertiary qualifications in either Professional Education and Training/ Adult Education/ Teaching/ Instructional Design or Psychology with a focus on educational theory or cognitive psychology and workplace experience in an adult learning environment. You will display proven leadership skills and clear ability to obtain effective cooperation and contribution from stakeholders and to develop and maintain effective relationships.

You will also require deep knowledge of contemporary learning strategy, models and frameworks and an enthusiastic capacity to contribute your digital learning expertise.

Further requirements include excellence in developing eLearning content using SCORM compliant authoring tools as well as superior written and verbal communication skills, flexibility, an ability to work autonomously and proven ability to liaise, consult and facilitate effectively with a wide range of people including government, industry, and community, educational and volunteer bodies.
