Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH)

Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) is a joint initiative of The University of Queensland (UQ), University of Southern Queensland (USQ), Darling Downs Health (DDH) and South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS). We support nursing, midwifery, allied health students and health professionals to develop a high quality and highly skilled workforce across regional, rural and remote Southern Queensland.

SQRH is funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health as a University Department of Rural Health under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program. SQRH is funded to engage with the local communities to support the delivery of training to students, maintain and progress an evidence base and the rural health research agenda, support improvements in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and provide regional leadership in developing innovative training solutions to address rural workforce recruitment retention.

About This Opportunity

An opportunity exists for a Marketing and Communications Officer to support promotional activities to enhance the profile of Southern Queensland Rural Health (SQRH) and enrich the student and alumni experience. This position will work closely with the consortium members (UQ, USQ, DDH, and SWHHS) and the SQRH Senior Leadership Team to develop end-to-end marketing campaigns to attract students to rural placements, and assist with key research, alumni, and industry engagement initiatives.

In this position, you will support the execution of the social media strategy, maintain the SQRH website, work closely with creative agencies to produce publications, and provide support with event coordination as required. The position will be based in Toowoomba.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication skills. You will have a degree in marketing, communications or another relevant field, without subsequent relevant work experience; or completion of a diploma qualification and at least two (2) years subsequent relevant work in a marketing or digital communications role; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training

You will have advanced computer skills and proficient working knowledge of website content management systems, knowledge of developing and writing engaging email and print communications, and a passion for creating enriching content for social media channels. Experience in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign and Photoshop are ideal. You will also have the ability to analyse results, website analytics and report back on promotional campaigns.

In addition, you will have well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of stakeholders partnered with demonstrated attention to detail and organisational skills.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position until 31/12/2022 with possibility of extension at HEW Level 5.

The base salary will be in the range $70,796 - $78,852, plus super of up to 17%. The total package will be in the range $82,831 - $92,256.
