The Risk Monitoring & Oversight (M&O) team is part of the Line 1 Risk function that supports the Customer Service Network (CSN). The team delivers comprehensive and integrated risk support service, providing risk management advice and coordination of the implementation of risk management activities.

This Risk and Control Enablement Analyst position is on offer as a 12 months fixed term contract ending June 2022. For internal candidates, this is a secondment opportunity.

Reporting to the Manager Risk and Control Enablement, you will maintain and embed the Operational and Compliance Risk Management framework for the Customer Service Network to enable the business to meet their objectives in a safe manner. On any given day you will:

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of controls and process maps;
  • Perform assurance and periodical control testing across key operational risk and compliance activities associated to the execution of third party authorities across CSN;
  • Continuously seek ways to execute assurance efficiently, without negatively impacting coverage and quality;
  • Contribute to root cause analysis of Issues and Incidents, identifying and implementing control improvements;
  • Review, analyse and provide feedback on operational risk and compliance activities to frontline managers;
  • Identify and initiate actions to remediate risks and strengthen controls, including managing the remediation of errors identified through assurance activities, control testing and other processes;
  • Co-ordinate, coach and assist the delivery of education and communication of risk management related to provision of third party authority the provided to the frontline staff in the CSN business;
  • Manage relationships within key internal business partners such as the Customer Service Network, Distribution Support and Line 1 Quality & Control, legal and compliance teams to assist the business in delivering on key operational risk and compliance requirements;

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

  • A strong risk mindset with the ability to proactively identify and understand, openly discuss and act on current and future risks;
  • Retail Banking product or service experience would be advantageous;
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with an ability to think critically and use data driven insights to solve problems;
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy whilst working to competing priorities
