We are currently looking for an experienced Functional Billing Lead to join our dynamic and supportive Customer Operations group based in Melbourne. Your primary focus will be working in team with responsibility to manage workflows and performance for exceptions and timely resolution in an operating environment. You will also manage and monitor operational activities and tasks within Alinta Energy Retail billing systems and processes to enable accurate invoices to be sent to customers and manage exceptions processes resolving any issues related to invoicing. This role will focus on electricity & gas billing for Mass Market but will action C&I billing as well.

Additional responsibilities will include:
Provide inputs to uplift Mass Market and C&I billing processes on a national platform
Own, manage and prioritise billing defects & issues and is responsible for improvement of projects to ensure processes align with Customer operations strategy
Provide data operational insights to support business key decision making
Supporting Billing Analyst in Onboarding, Metering and Billing activities
Create and maintain procedural documentation to ensure billing, metering and exception management process is effectively managed and adheres to billing accuracy
Support creation and development of business processes upstream and downstream from Billing function.
Develop operational strategies to improve customer and exception resolution rates
Own and deliver process maps and work instructions for function
Working in a Transition and Stabilisation functional team within Business Operations team.

To be successful you will have:
Excellent understanding of the energy industry for Mass Market customers
Demonstrated knowledge of industry B2B procedures
Previous experience working in billing related roles, especially using Orion, Gentrack and CISOV Billing Systems
Ability to engage stakeholders and deliver to wider business needs
Ability to quickly upskill knowledge of electricity and gas markets within Australia
Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated success in being able to conceptualize complex technical issues and resolve issues quickly
Desirable to have experience in overseeing the analysis, design, development, and implementation of software solutions, systems, or products
Knowledge of the relevant operating billing information systems for retailers

The ideal candidates will have strong analytical skills and ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required. This position also requires a combination of having great attention to detail and maintaining a “big picture” business perspective, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
