About us

We are the most influential, independent business body in Victoria with over 47,000 members, customers and clients. Our members choose us because of our network and connectivity, policy influence, professional development opportunities, and range of business services (we’re trusted experts in workplace relations, international trade, workplace health, safety and wellbeing, and policy development). Our team of 180 people thrive on putting our members first in everything we do - from providing exceptional customer service to advocating for their interests to all levels of government. The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry works for the success of our members, business and Victoria.

About the role

Our Workplace Relations team offers our members expert advice, training and assistance on a range of employment matters, working across various industries and sectors. Our Advice Line Advisors are responsible for providing relevant and accurate telephone advice to members on enquiries relating to industrial relations legislation, awards, general human resources issues and general workplace occupational health safety issues. In addition, this role will provide information to members on the full range of consulting services and products that are available to meet their needs.

About you

We are looking for someone with a passion for Business, Industrial Relations and Human Resources to join our team of Advisors to identify and assess member issues, provide relevant and accurate advice, and advise members on the full range of consulting services and products that are available to meet their needs.

A degree in IR or HR, or equivalent industry experience will be required to be successful in this role. You will have at least 2-5 years experience in providing accurate and timely HR/IR advice (to either an internal or external client group). You will have an understanding of employment legislation and the Australian Industrial Relations system. Your strong customer service skills including a high level of verbal and written communication skills, as well as your capacity to comprehend a wide range of IR/HR issues and communicate them in a user-friendly manner to our members will see you excel in this role.

We are open to candidates seeking full time or part time opportunities.

Please note that the successful applicant will be subject to a satisfactory police check as a pre-condition of employment.
