JOB DESCRIPTION

Full Job Description
Fundraising is our vocation! We take insights, creativity, and innovation and turn them in to the income that will fund lifesaving and world-changing outcomes. We are passionate advocates on behalf of our donors, drawing on our knowledge of what inspires and motivates them to build genuine engagement in our shared cause.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.

We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster - like an earthquake, drought or conflict - we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:
In this part-time fixed term position (4 days per week for 6 months with strong potential for extension), based in Carlton, you’ll be one of the operational voices and faces of the organisation, caring for the day-to-day needs of our potential and existing supporters. You will be part of our Fundraising team and report to our Supporter Care Manager.

You will make an impact by:
Proactively handling inbound and outbound supporter communications
Working with key communications stakeholders to maintain and improve responses to frequently asked questions
Maintaining a supporter centric and customer focused approach
Contributing towards retention and fundraising targets to help us continue our work
Understanding our organisational need to remain agile so we can protect vulnerable children in need, respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, and to advocate for children’s rights

Does this sound like you?

You’re a compassionate and empathetic supporter advocate who strives for the highest level of customer care. You’re committed to ensuring timely and on-brand responses to supporters following prescribed processes and are also comfortable improvising when needed. You’re motivated and inspired by the work that we do and passionate about standing up for children’s rights.

This role requires:
Demonstrated experience in a similar role with a customer-centric and solution-seeking approach
Experience working with a donor database or customer relationship management system
Exceptional verbal and written interpersonal skills
High levels of attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
Ability to multi-task and manage your time effectively
Knowledge and experience of the not-for-profit sector is desirable but not essential

Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.

It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. In addition to a connection to social causes, you will have access to:

Opportunity to work on additional projects alongside business as usual
Individual learning plans to assist in your career development
Internal employment and development opportunities
Friendly and flexible work environment including working from home
Pet and child friendly work environment
