The VPS3 Communications and Marketing Officer is an ongoing position currently available within the International Education Division (IED) of the Department of Education and Training (the Department). Working within a small, diverse team of marketing, communications, stakeholder and events professionals, the cohesive and supportive Marketing, Communications and Stakeholder Engagement (MCSE) Unit is responsible for: Undertaking marketing and communications activities and events; Establishing and enhancing strategic relationships; Providing high-quality support for international delegations, including online forums.

Please note that the pay range for this position is $70,791 - $85,956, with the base offered unless your current substantive salary falls within the range.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to:
Assist with updating and managing the study.vic.gov.au website including content and design updates
Manage electronic direct mail (eDMs)
Support in-person, online and hybrid events, and coordinate smaller student experience and engagement events
Coordinate collateral development, print and distribution
Provide content writing and editing support, including all marketing materials, newsletters, social media posts and website content
Support the development of new multimedia assets, in conjunction with suppliers
Assure brand and language consistency.

About the International Education Division

A globally oriented education system is crucial to ensuring that our young people have the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly inter-connected world and workplace. IED is proudly supporting that mission in a number of ways. Firstly, IED is responsible for administering the Department's International Student Program (ISP) for fee-paying international students who attend Victorian government primary and secondary schools. IED is also responsible for:

Advocacy and strategic communications regarding Global Learning and Engagement within the Department of Education and Training, across the education system and at a national level, including through active social media channels.
Facilitating international engagement activities like Ministerial travel and receiving international delegations.
Delivering a suite of Global Learning and Engagement initiatives aimed at improving the capabilities, practice and global understanding of students, teachers, school leaders and school communities.

In addition to the above ongoing work, IED is also currently working on the following projects due to coronavirus (COVID-19):

Facilitating the delivery of offshore learning to international students who have been unable to return to Victoria.
Determining a process for the safe return of school-aged international students while COVID-19 in an ongoing concern.
