Head of Internal Communications

Reporting to the Director, Public Affairs the Head of Internal Communications leads a team of strategic communications professionals who work closely with and support internal stakeholders including the Secretary's office, Executive Board, Organisational Redesign Team, and other key business areas to develop, implement and evaluate integrated communications plans, campaigns and projects in line with the department's strategic priorities.

They ensure positive staff engagement in key department initiatives and change projects and build internal communication capacity among internal clients and other communication staff.

They act as a change communications champion to ensure staff are well informed and engaged with change, and that high standards are applied in all communication across the organisation.

As appropriate, they may also be required to provide surge support to other policy portfolios to ensure effective media and communications services can be delivered by the Branch during emergency, crisis and peak periods.
