What you will do

The Client Onboarding team manages large and complex new business implementations for clients. As part of the project team, the lead’s assigned to a client onboarding have involvement in the sales and due diligence process, educates and trains clients on operational models, services procedures and product capabilities and is a main interface between clients, vendors and internal parties for integration and preparation for new business being brought live onto the Northern Trust architecture.

This particular role is specific to the Financial Reporting product in order to support new client onboarding to the product as a subject matter expert for Northern Trust. This position supports the Australian Investment Accounting team and is responsible for onboarding clients for monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial reporting, regulatory reporting and tax reporting across a diverse range of investment manager and superannuation fund clients.

Your Knowledge/Skills:
Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
Strategic in developing, implementing and administering solutions within functional areas
Operates independently and has in-depth knowledge of business unit/specific area of expertise with strong knowledge in other areas
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Direct interaction with different clients, vendors and internal stakeholders at all levels
Project focused and able to present, facilitate discussions and reach decisions
Technical understanding and practical application of accounting and tax concepts as they relate to Managed Investment Schemes (MIS’s) and Superannuation funds
Understanding of unit pricing and unit registry concepts
Demonstrated understanding of the application of Australian Accounting Standards as they relate to MIS’s and Superannuation funds, and the different assets they invest in
Demonstrated understanding of the application of Australian Tax rules as they relate to MIS’s and Superannuation funds, and the different assets they invest in and an understanding of different trust structures and entity types
Demonstrated understanding of the application of regulatory reporting requirements - APRA, ABS, BAS, PAYG
Strong excel skills and the proficiency in utilizing financial statements and tax reporting system tools
