The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference and add to our work environment, within a place where you can learn and perform to your fullest potential.

As the Works Coordinator you’ll be responsible for the delivery and facilitation of efficient and effective maintenance regimes through clear planning and coordination of Melbourne Water’s delivery and operational teams, maintenance service providers and all other contractors across the nominated facilities.

This position will have a primary base location of Esatern Treatment Plant with the requirement to support other teams across the various water and sewerage facilities as needed.

Your Skills and Experience
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the maintenance of large and complex mechanical and electrical plant and equipment.
The expectation to have the ability to make decisions. “Incumbent shall be able to demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions to facilitate the smooth execution of plant maintenance and conflict of schedule resolutions without impacting/ (minimizing) plant operations”.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated ability to efficiently schedule works and use systems to improve delivery output.
Experience and detailed knowledge in one or more of the mechanical, electrical or instrumentation disciplines.
Proven ability to provide a high level of customer service, and contribute to a constructive, positive and supportive team environment.
Influential in workgroups and with colleagues in a complex environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills to ensure a common understanding is established.
Excellent organisational skills and an ability to balance priorities.
Experience with Maximo, MS Office and other IT asset based systems.
Demonstrated experience in risk management.

Your ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is required together with a relevant trade or tertiary qualification with significant industry experience.
