What will you do?

In this position you will join our Air, Land and Water Business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of infrastructure projects - from planning, investigation, slope assessment and characterisation through to designs for slope stabilisation.

Contribute to the development of Engineering Geology capability within the SAVI region and across the wider Aurecon business.
Bring significant experience in Engineering Geology to Aurecon opportunities and projects.
Maintain knowledge of guidelines, technical standards, legislation and codes of practice appropriate to engineering geological practice in Australia.
Develop and promote technical excellence through research and presentation of papers.
Assist with training and career development of more junior staff.
Ensure that all work undertaken is in accordance with appropriate professional and technical standards and practices with effective Quality Assurance

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:
A tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology
Proven track record in engineering geological assessments and design for infrastructure projects (dams experience would be advantageous).
Broad range of experience in geological mapping, site investigations and detailed logging and sampling of soil and rock core.
Experience in aerial photography interpretation.
Experience in rock mass classification, slope risk assessments and ground support assessments.
RPGeo status with the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (or equivalent).
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Engineering Geology discipline.
Ability to work collaboratively both internally within Aurecon and with our clients.
Good knowledge of use of computers and technical software, including familiarity with programs such as Leapfrog 3D, Dips, RocFall, Slide, Swedge and Unwedge.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
