Join this leading education provider as buying/ purchasing officer.

Your new company
This is a modern and forward-thinking education provider and they are one of the leading in Australia. They provide high-class education for a wide range of disciplines. One of the oldest institutions of it's kind in Australia they provide world-class tertiary education to Sydney's domestic and international student populations.

Your new role
In this operational procurement support role you will:

  • Respond to customer enquiries, questions, requests and processing tasks lodged through multiple channels.
  • Resolve transactions, using both Knowledge Base articles and other reference materials, where applicable.
  • Use the Procurement Operations Ticket management platform to raise tickets and/or initiate buying for all customer enquiries/requests received via telephone or email.
  • Using the information provided, assess customer-raised buying requests and enquiries to determine whether escalation to another team is required.
  • Escalate all triaged tickets, including High Priority and VIP category tickets through the appropriate channels to the relevant team


What you'll need to succeed
You will have excellent customer service and communication skills - [both written and oral], well-developed telephone manner. You will also have demonstrated high level interpersonal skills and expertise, with the ability to convey information to customers with empathy - both students and staff at all levels of the organisation. An ability to effectively prioritise workloads, work within defined parameters and be solution-oriented. Capability to work independently and also as a member of a team. Proven ability to share knowledge and Procurement / Finance expertise within a team environment, with the objective of ensuring the continual improvement of customer service delivery.

What you'll get in return
This is an immediate start contract based in the CBD, paid on a competitive hourly rate. This is a BAU role and expected to carry on past the initial contract date dependent on performance.
