Job Description

The global Square Marketing team helps businesses learn about Square and engage with our ecosystem of products and services. Square is looking for a social media marketer to join our Australian team. This is a multifaceted role with scope to grow. You will become Square's voice on social media — elevating the brand and telling our story in a way that is meaningful and engaging. You'll manage concepting, production and writing of all social media content and creative and become a trusted voice for our community of sellers across Australia.

Under your leadership our channels will become a destination for our community to engage and interact with Square — and have fun along the way. You will be a social native accomplished in bringing ideas, campaigns and moments to life on digital channels, and you'll have an eye for great copy and be comfortable taking creative concepts and tailoring them for social. You will report to the Brand Manager (based in Melbourne) and the role can be located anywhere on the east coast of Australia, and work from home or our Melbourne office.

You will:

  • Be @SquareAU on social media—Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube, plus any emerging channels

  • Improve the social media experience for our followers while considering new ways to foster Square's online growth

  • Work with the wider brand team to bring our 'Above The Line' campaigns and creative to life across our social channels

  • Develop a social media strategy and calendar in collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Develop and scale our influencer marketing strategy, including identifying 'hero' sellers to feature in our work and partner with on campaigns

  • Monitor and research industry developments, creative trends, and culturally relevant moments to push forward our social media efforts with speed and efficiency

  • Grow our community and engage with Square sellers on these channels

  • Report analytics, helping drive quarterly goals and grow channel benchmarks

  • Help oversee Square's Australian editorial content strategy, including blog and other owned marketing channels

  • Work with the SEO team to identify new opportunities to grow the organic search channel

  • Develop case studies featuring influential businesses for marketing and sales enablement.
