JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a global leading provider in inspection & integrity services for industrial assets. We provide research & development solutions & develop integrity management strategies. We are looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer/Field Technician, based in Melbourne, Victoria.

Responsibilities

  • Develop standards, policies & procedures for testing using non-destructive techniques
  • Develop & establish NDT procedures for specified products & materials during & after manufacturing
  • Ensure maintenance & optimal functionality of NTD equipment
  • Ensure the availability of materials, equipment & workforce to meet design function specifications
  • Ensure efficient production schedules, facility layout & workforce utilisation


Duties Include
  • Analysing & interpreting In-Line Inspection signal data to identify both references & anomalies
  • Overseeing & conducting rigorous testing on structures & materials using non-destructive techniques
  • Inspecting equipment & facility layout & identifying structural & material defects
  • Completing test reports, & presenting findings
  • Interpreting test results & develop specifications for plant & systems as necessary
  • Launching & receiving the inspection tool in accordance to client’s specifications
  • Output reports onsite as part of deliverables
  • Performing site visits & briefings with client onsite representative to clarify inspection run circumstances, especially launching & receiving as well as pig tracking & marking procedures when applicable
  • Facilitating all pre-job safety meetings with clients & contractors
  • Receive pipeline In-line inspection data, check for quality & quantity
  • Setting up & calibrating NDT equipment
  • Soliciting assistance with dedicated analyst for proper QA/QC
  • Validating the survey data for completeness & quality


Further Requirements
  • Ability to pass HUET
  • Ability to pass medical checks as well as multiple client-site required drug & alcohol tests
  • Able to follow established internal & external HSE procedures, HSE mindset
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Organization & time management skills
  • Resilience with ability to adapt to frequently changing schedules & tight timelines
  • Work individually, as well as in a team environment with minimum supervision


Qualifications & Experience Required
  • Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Engineering with Electronics or Mechanical discipline preferred)
  • At least two years’ relevant working experience in inspection of Piping, Storage Tanks & Pressure Vessels.
  • NDT qualifications


Additional

Must have a clean, unrestricted driver’s licence. Must be willing to travel for up to 240 days of the calendar year & abide by any quarantine restriction rules.
