  • The Northern Community Care Unit is searching for a Registered Nurse Grade 2 to join the their team

  • Full time/partime position ongoing

Your new team

  • We are a 20 bed Residential Rehabilitation service, located in Preston. We support our residents to achieve the recovery goals, to empower them to regain the ability to be live independently and to their fullest potential
    We have a highly dedicated team, consisting of nursing, allied health and medical, which work together to provide a high standard of care

  • Our work environment is one of collaboration, where we share knowledge and expertise with each other, with the view to benefit our residents in our facility

  • We specialise in symptom management, medication supervision, life-skills training, rehabilitation and reintegrating to the community

Your success in this role, will be in your ability to

  • Support our residents to achieve the recovery goals identified, in collaboration within a multidisciplinary team 

  • Act as a key player in the identification, implementation and evaluation of recovery goals for our residents

  • Provide clinical expertise in assessment, risk management and decision making in the delivery of treatment and interventions to clients, maximizing participation in collaborative recovery and wellness planning.

  • Assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of NCCU Group programs in response to identified needs.

  • Liaise and work collaboratively alongside IPU, ED, EMH, CCU, PARC and Community Teams

  • Work collaboratively with Non-Government organisations, GP’s, private psychiatrists and others in the provision of quality care for clients and their families/carers

Your Contribution

  • Current registration with APHRA

  • You will bring your own expertise to our team, sharing your knowledge and experience to the program, to empower our residents through their recovery journey

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • Ability to provide optimal care and expertise within the service framework

  • Clinical expertise in mental state assessment and risk assessment

  • Demonstrated ability in time management and organisational skills

  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills within a team framework and demonstrated ability to relate to consumers, carers, other professionals and members of the general community

  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, government policy and strategic directions in the mental health field

  • Current Victorian driver’s licence
