JOB DESCRIPTION

• Seeks resolution of problems through policy or process guidelines.
• Tailor communications according to audience and/or audience preference.
• Guides others in strategic planning process. The Senior Valuer will provide valuation advice, undertake and outsource complex, urgent and sensitive valuations. This position will require developing strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.

The incumbent will be required to provide valuation advice, undertake and outsource complex, urgent and sensitive valuations. Developing a strong working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders is essential.

Valuer General Victoria (VGV) provides professional valuation services and expertise to and on behalf of Government. This comprises two key functional areas:

Government Valuations – for Whole-of-Government property transactions; and

Rating Authority Valuations – Certification and/or provision of Municipal Valuations.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

  • Completion of an appropriate tertiary qualification with Certified Practising Valuer (CPV) status and membership with the Australian Property Institute (API).
  • Knowledge of the Valuation of Land Act 1960, Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986, Planning and Environment Act 1987 and other relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of the government processes and land administration matters.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with ISO 9001: 2015
