Purpose of the Role:
The target areas are Bonding/Painting Specialist but will not be restricted to just those He / She must deliver and perform the relevant special processes according to internal Alstom directives and industry standards. He/she sets up the production line, making decisions on technical aspects and driving necessary chances. He/ She must ensure that the standards, norms, technical specs, and engineering requirements are followed and respected. He/she must have the expertise to qualify and stabilise the process and ensure continuous improvement. He qualifies and coaches’ others to enable them to deliver the relevant process ensuring product conformity.

Along with supporting other owners your key responsibilities will include the following:

Establish and optimize existing production lines for bonding and painting activities.
Ensure that painting and bonding processes on site fulfil Alstom requirements.
Prepare work instructions, procedures, manuals, assembly books, training scripts.
Make decisions on bonding and painting aspects as the technical expert, when necessary.
Train the operators/inspectors/engineers delivering training sessions.
Perform workstation audits on site level for the relevant special processes.
Drive the change in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities.

It is required you will have the following qualifications, experience, and personal characteristics:

Must have experience and/or knowledge in bonding and painting processes.
Must hold a degree in technical discipline.
Must be qualified as an expert for the execution of the bonding and painting processes.
Ability to solve problems, not just report them.
Ability to implement change, lead initiatives, engage others.

It is desired but not essential you will have the following qualifications:

Technical background (Mechanical Engineer/Chemical Engineer)
Industry recognized qualification - for ex. European Adhesive Engineer (EAE)
Knowledge about the international standards and norms for bonding and painting
Experience in solving practical problems and carrying out improvement projects.
Experience in demonstrating the quality excellence skills, e.g., experience with internal audits.
Experience in training & coaching others is desired.
