The Opportunity.

The Biosecurity directorate are seeking to establish a pool of suitably qualified Administration Officers to join the team. The Administration Officer will manage the day to day correspondence, meetings and organise and maintain workflows for the respective Directorates. In this role, you will ensure outcomes are in line with the Department's business requirements and are based upon quality customer service practices.

Key responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the preparation of meetings, including agendas
  • Assist and coordinate travel and accommodation requirements
  • Contribute to the maintenance and tracking of information systems including record keeping, project tracking databases and archives
  • Process accounts for payment and create invoices
  • Able to deal with competing priorities

The Ideal Candidate.

The ideal candidate will have great time management and communication skills, thriving in a fast paced environment. You will be proactive in dealing with any issues, finding solutions for business improvements with a proven ability to problem solve and deal with competing priorities.

We are looking for motivated self-starters who has experience in coordinating incoming telephone calls, visitor enquiries, diary appointments, emails and other communications. Monitor outstanding action items arising from correspondence, emails and meetings. Experience with Objective is also desirable.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract and this is required as part of your application.

The pool will be valid for a period of twelve (12) months following finalisation of the process and may be used to fill permanent and fixed term, full time and part time opportunities that may arise in this period.
