The Position

Position Title: Health Information Support Officer
Classification: HS1A - HS1
Hours per fortnight: 45.6 - 3 days per week
Employment Status: Fixed Term Part Time, July 2021 - September 2022

The Team

The Quality and Patient Information Division provides leadership for the nursing workforce throughout Bendigo Health. Quality and Patient Information provides leadership and support for quality improvement, patient safety and experience and health information services across the organisation. The division, through both Health Information Services and Quality have key roles in medical record management, clinical documentation, freedom of information, patient safety, quality improvement, risk management, external reporting and compliance requirements. There is a strong strategic and operational focus of promoting quality improvement, supporting the organisation to review incidents, data and systems to improve patient outcomes and efficiency of the business.

In addition, the Executive Director of Quality and Patient Information holds the professional portfolio of Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer. Nurses are the largest work group within Bendigo Health and the division is focused on supporting our nursing workforce to feel valued and empowered. Essential:
01.Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to take the initiative and make decisions within delegation level.

Essential:
02.Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

Essential:
03.Demonstrated high level of computer skills including the ability to operate multiple Microsoft Office products and various other in house programs and databases.

Essential:
04.Demonstrated ability to enter data accurately and rapidly onto a computerised system.

Essential:
05.High level communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships with a cross section of staff.

Essential:
06.Demonstrated ability to embrace and respond positively to change.

Desirable:
07.Completion of a Certificate III Business Administration course and/or relevant.

Desirable:
08.Sound knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the Health Records Act and Privacy Act.

Desirable:
09.Knowledge of Health Information Services and medical terminology.

Desirable:
10.Previous administration experience in a healthcare environment.
