The primary focus of this role is to provide early, timely and personal claims management and return to work service to injured workers and employers. It is also to proactively support the injured worker and employer through the recovery and return to work process.

This is a full time 18 Month contract position based in Melbourne.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide workers’ compensation advice to stakeholders such as workers, employers and providers
  • Deliver personalised face-to-face assistance to workers and employers
  • Conduct community-based visits inclusive of but not limited to worksites or medical clinics on initial triage of a claim and at significant milestones during the life of a claim
  • Pro-actively proceed with appropriate case management to achieve the optimum outcome of early sustainable return to work for workers with reasonable claim costs; and
  • Assist in reviewing providers’ performance and consult with Provider / Return to Work Specialist where required.

About You
  • Strong base of workers’ compensation, rehabilitation/Return to Work, nursing or experience in case management
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology
  • Basic knowledge of the Victorian workers’ compensation legislation and regulations
  • Effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work
  • Sound negotiation and influencing skills
  • Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Current Unrestricted Victorian Drivers Licence
