About the role:

We have a permanent opportunity based in Merredin for an experienced Electrical Dual Tradesperson. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of electrical and instrumentation services including installation, testing, maintenance, fault finding, repair and commissioning of all Water Corporation’s assets throughout the Region.

We are seeking an individual who takes ownership of their work area, and is able to work effectively independently but also contributes to a positive team environment and safety culture.

What the role will involve:

  • Performs scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance in water systems and installs electrical and instrumentation components
  • Performs complex isolation and shutdowns
  • Performs High Voltage switching as required
  • Performs all tasks on PLC, SCADA, Instrumentation and communication systems. Maintains, installs and calibrates control systems, instruments and analysers
  • Undertakes advanced Fault finding on PLC, Instrumentation and SCADA equipment
  • Complex problem solving of water systems and chemical dosing systems

Key skills and experience:

  • Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Instrumentation Certificate
  • HV Switching Competent or Authorised as required (District Specific)
  • Relevant High Risk Licences
  • WA ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated computer literacy (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Experience in High Voltage operations (District Specific)
  • Experience in the use of SCBA and atmospheric monitoring equipment (District Specific)
  • Knowledge of confined space entry requirements (District Specific)
