Highly innovative and collaborative design team consisting of architects, planners and designers are looking for a highly creative and talented mid-level (4 years) graphic designer for a period of 12 months. This role is a mix of on-site and remote working and is responsible for supporting the senior designer with journey planning, wayfinding and experiential design, 2D and 3D design, procurement and BAU design. A creative mindset, a keen eye for detail and clear communication skills are foundational.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate custom 2D and 3D solutions, materials and bespoke processes with designers, fabricators and installers
  • Support the Environmental Graphic Designer in the development of wayfinding and other signage proposals, auditing, design intent documentation and production-ready files
  • Contribute to the acquisition and tendering process including assisting the development of briefs and specifications and evaluation of tenders submitted
  • Assist with the review of consultant and contractor design submissions, documentation and artwork
  • Coordinate custom 2D and 3D solutions, materials and bespoke processes with designers, fabricators and installers
  • Assist to manage and report on the status of projects throughout their life cycle

Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline (graphic design or similar)
  • Demonstrated equivalent relevant industry experience
  • Visual intelligence and understanding of design elements/ processes including typography, composition, scale, legibility, standards interpretation, and documentation
  • Experience in journey planning, wayfinding design, signage hierarchy, materiality and fabrication is desirable but not essential
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop and complete design documentation, schedules and presentations
  • Ability to work effectively in a team or independently and to collaborate with staff at all levels in consulting, sharing and disseminating knowledge and experience in a professional manner
  • Experience working with design professionals, technical consultants and contractors is desirable
  • Ability to deliver projects on time and to appropriate quality standards in accordance with appropriate process and procedures
  • Current Driver’s Licence and the ability to travel to different sites to gather site information for signage, graphic, furniture and space requirements
  • Strong computer literacy with proficiency in the Microsoft Office 365 platform and applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, OneNote, Teams) and drawing/ design/ graphics programs (Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop)
