Our client is a government department who is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join their team in Sydney CBD.

The primary purpose of the role is to gather, document and analyse varying stages of business requirements, translate them into functional specifications for approval by project sponsor/stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with project methodology and enterprise architecture.

The role drives digital based solutions and prototypes across both business and IT driven initiatives and capabilities and provides technical leadership and subject matter expertise when defining, developing and executing customer-facing digital solutions. The role also manages the review and analysis of the organisation’s business intentions, services, processes and information needs to identify changes that lead to business improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the efficiency and effectiveness of existing business operations to establish a base for developing improved structures, processes and systems, and analyse workflow to create processes and information models and identify areas of improvement
  • Manage requirements through the entire project lifecycle, providing input into project change requests and work with stakeholders to develop documents describing required change that accurately reflects stated issues
  • Review functional specifications and solution concepts developed by vendors that describe the desired outcomes of system development, integration or enhancement projects within agreed policies, standards and architectures to ensure these solutions meet business requirements
  • Research user/customer need, create user journeys, scan market for opportunities emerging technologies and practices and support the development of test strategies, plans, scripts and assist with testing activities where applicable

Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated advanced ability in business analysis.
  • Extensive experience gathering, documenting and analysing varying stages of business requirements, translating them into functional specifications

On offer is a contract until 31/12/2021 at a highly sought after government department, with a highly competitive daily rate.
