Risk & Governance Analyst

  • Provide support and guidance to implement Suncorp’s risk and compliance processes
  • 9-month secondment/contract opportunity
  • Brisbane or Sydney location

The Role

As the Risk & Governance Analyst you will, support the key team deliverables and provide technical support and administration for Finance & Advice (F&A). The role is primarily to support the continued maintenance and uplift of Suncorp’s Risk Management Strategy. This role is risk and compliance focused and will see you provide support and guidance to implement Suncorp’s risk and compliance processes, systems, governance activities and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support in the documenting, designing, developing and delivering to the F&A Control Test Schedule to protect the business
  • Identify and assess business needs and assist with problems/issues management that leads to feasible solutions
  • Facilitate strategic decision-making and enhance efficiencies
  • Contribute to developing standardised tools that enhance shared capability, including acting as a SME for the delivery of education and supporting training materials
  • Perform control testing review of business self-assessments
  • Support and contribute to program & project activities, where necessary
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) of risk

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing, maintaining and supporting business systems
  • Experience in governance, risk or compliance with exposure to risk management practices and approaches
  • Experience in operating with sensitive information in a considered manner
  • Experience in customer and stakeholder management and communication
  • Proficient in creating and documenting support procedures
  • Ability to think strategically, laterally and from a whole-of-Suncorp and Functional viewpoint
  • Tertiary qualifications in risk, law or finance (Desired)
