Reporting into the Chief Content Officer, the newly created role of Head of News & Information will be responsible for building, implementing, and executing a world leading news, information, and current affairs content strategy across SCA's linear and digital audio assets.

Our preference is that the successful candidate will be based in either Sydney or Melbourne.

As the successful candidate, you will be a strategic, visionary leader who possesses a wealth of experience as a news and current affairs executive, operating in Australian and International markets. You will lead, motivate, and engage SCA’s high-performing and passionate news teams to deliver compelling, accurate and timely news relevant to SCA’s unique and diverse communities and audiences.

As the successful applicant you will have:

  • Significant experience within a similar role, as a News, Information and/or Current Affairs executive
  • Exceptional presentation skills, capable of engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Strong commercial skills and the ability to use financial data and technology to make effective decisions and to drive change when necessary
  • An unquenchable desire to drive a culture of success and continuous improvements through innovation
  • Strong experience and interest in best practice News production, across digital audio and broadcast
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams and individuals to consistently perform at high levels
  • Strong knowledge of journalistic standards, ethics, and compliance standards
