Position

title: Linux Support L2

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strong RedHat Linux Server administration knowledge.
  • Working experience on IBM AIX platforms.
  • Providing technical problem solving and in-depth consulting for system operations.
  • Will work as part of a team responsible for administration and management of servers, and potentially clustered systems.
  • Patch Management using RedHat Satellite Servers.
  • Experience with VMware ESX on Dell Machines.
  • Worked with IBM Pseries machines.
  • Working Knowledge on Automation using ShellScript, BigFix, Ansible etc.
  • Experience in recent backup technologies (TSM, Networker, Netbackup etc.)
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge on LDAP setup on Configuration is an added advantage.
  • Interface and partner with Vendors, Network Engineers, Storage Engineers, Database
  • Administrators and Application Teams to optimize systems use and configuration
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • ITIL Process knowledge and certification (ITIL v3)

  • previous experience in a UNIX (Linux) operation and /or engineering capacity, preferably in a global financial services organisation

  • Capable of developing and reviewing complex and detailed ICT infrastructure solutions and designs. Oversee compliance of services delivered by infrastructure managed services and Cloud partners covering performance, operational compliance, and reporting in accordance with
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills and business acumen, including experience in drafting high level advice, reports, submissions, and briefing
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and provide innovative solutions for IT issues, and the ability to develop and implement appropriate risk management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills investigating to root cause
Education:
  • Degree/Diploma in IT or equivalent
  • ITIL certification would be an advantage
  • Industry recognised IT certifications
