We are looking for HIL Validation Engineer for one of our reputed automotive client.

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Feature Test & Analysis requires a critical engineering mind with an interest in the operation of distributed electrical systems.
  • In order to successfully test a feature the candidate will need to be able to understand functional specifications, wiring schematics and relate the implementation of the function to the test method itself.
  • Before test execution, test method analysis is required to support the definition of scope for the test facility.
  • This analysis involves reviewing the test method and working with the hardware facility designer and modelling developer to facilitate the test environment.
  • Initially the role will introduce the test concepts using test methods developed externally by core teams.
  • The system test methods will be executed using vehicle simulation test equipment in the HIL laboratory in Geelong.
  • Test execution will require elements of test system setup, debugging, configuration and results analysis to raise potential product problem details to the feature owner.
  • The experienced candidate would be expected to develop or modify prior test methods to accommodate unique or new program specific test elements.
  • In this element of the role communication skills become more critical as the candidate would need to be comfortable working with multiple cross functional areas of the company to establish a viable test and sign off capability.

Skills Required :

  • The role is multi-skilled and involves self-directed problem solving and debugging of electrical systems.
  • A background in electronics, mechatronics, testing concepts and vehicle networking would highly regarded.
  • Requires strong understanding of Jira Database.
  • The testing is executed using a physical and simulated vehicle environment with dSPACE HIL equipment.
  • The capability to operate Control Desk to perform this testing is a minimum requirement for manual test execution.
  • Candidates with Automation Desk experience would be preferred, as the goal will be to develop test methods and automate for repeatability / efficiency.
  • Use of vehicle diagnostic software, a familiarity with CAN networks and diagnostic protocols would be beneficial
  • certainly an interest in these topics and willingness to operate in an area of uncertainty during vehicle development is likely to be required
