About us

On 20 October 2018, the Victorian Government made a commitment to establish a restorative engagement and redress scheme for Victoria Police employees who had experienced workplace sex discrimination and/or harassment.

The Scheme opened on 12 December 2019 and is available to former and current employees of Victoria Police.

The Scheme offers a range of options for eligible participants, including:

  • access to counselling and wellbeing services
  • participation in a restorative engagement process
  • financial redress payments.

The Scheme is administered by the Redress Design business unit within the Department of Justice and Community Safety. Redress Design has five key areas: an Executive Office, Support Services, Restorative Engagement, Assessments, and Operations and Strategy.

About the role

As the Senior Manager, Support Services, you will be responsible for:

  • overseeing and facilitating effective participant access to counselling, wellbeing, and other appropriate therapeutic services
  • providing advice, strategic direction and mentoring to staff undertaking case management work
  • developing and review key systems, procedures, policies, and specifications to support the operations of the Scheme
  • leading the development and implementation of robust policies and procedures that are based on trauma informed principles and a case management model that offers flexible and responsive assistance.

The role also requires speaking with participants of the Scheme in a sensitive and trauma-informed manner as well as dealing with material that can be challenging and distressing and will best suit a candidate who is resilient and empathetic.

About you

As the Senior Manager, Support Services, you will possess:

  • recent demonstrable experience in a leadership role
  • an ability to develop and articulate the strategic framework for the delivery of the Scheme's support services
  • significant experience leading and managing staff in a service delivery context
  • experience in providing supports to victims of sexual assault (highly regarded).

A recognised Social Work degree or similar such as Psychology, Human Services or Criminal Justice would be highly regarded.
