This position manages all activities of the Research and Development team for the products developed and marketed by the company. Strong managerial, technical, organizational and interpersonal skills are necessary to accomplish company and personal goals.

Role and Responsibilities

  •  Manage project planning, task assignment and enforcement of corporate personnel policies for team.
  •  Manage employee development activities such as goal development, performance appraisals and training.
  •  Translate customer requirements to development objectives.
  •  Provide cross-training, technical leadership and information sharing with other staff members.
  •  Support IBM Offering Managers, Technical Sales, Internal Sales, and Technical Support teams by providing pre- and post-sales product expertise during development and enhancement cycle via presentations and other venues.
  •  Assist senior management with the development of future thinking and innovative roadmaps and functionality.
  •  Support product development efforts by providing customer requirements and enhancement request input to product strategy.
  •  Experience coding in Mainframe z/OS Assembler (HLASM)
  •  Comprehensive understanding of ISPF, JCL and IBM utilities
  •  Strong Debugging skills
  •  Strong critical thinking skills
  •  Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  •  Strong teamwork skill, high personal integrity, and ability to earn trust from others
  •  Commitment to learning new technologies as needed
  •  Understanding of Agile principles
  •  Travel and working extended hours may be required to adequately support customer and company needs.

  • IPCS, SVC dumps
  • SMS, ACS routines
  • DFSMS access methods
  • DFSMS Data set level encryption
  • XDC
  • PPRC/GDPS/Flashcopy or OEM equivalents
