About The Role

You will be responsible for supporting MMC Controllership in the maintenance and enhancement of the internal control environment of the accounting function and production of financial information for use by the business units and reporting requirements.

The Accounting Manager is also responsible for the accurate and timely production of tax related financial information and returns, for use by the business units of the Pacific region, external tax agents and tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management and preparation of local income tax and indirect tax returns in accordance with local tax regulations
  • Management and preparation of tax calculations, schedules and packages as required by US GAAP
  • Completion of transfer pricing calculations and documentation
  • Provision of tax services internally related to income tax and international transfer pricing arrangements
  • Liaise with external tax advisors including planning and ensuring lodgement requirements are met
  • Assisting in the preparation of the year end consolidated and company statutory accounts and related note disclosures in accordance with relevant accounting standards
  • Production of monthly, quarterly and annual management financial information in accordance with accounting standards, MMC accounting policies and timetable, as and when needed
  • Preparation or review of tax related month end journals & balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provision of timely and accurate financial information to the Financial Planning and Analysis team
  • Provision of tax and accounting support to the business

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or the equivalent
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Experience in tax accounting, tax reporting and preparation of statutory financial statements preferred
  • Hands on experience in managing a diverse set of stakeholders, including senior management
  • Experience in managing a team preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects assuming responsibility for them
  • Pro-activeness and flexible in changing demands
  • Strong numeric / analytical / problem solving skills
  • Strong Inter-personal & communication skills – ability to communicate with people at various levels
  • Team leader and player – motivated and working together to achieve objectives
