About the role
The Pastoral Care worker will provide compassionate, professionally informed and confidential pastoral care support to patients, families and carers, addressing their emotional and spiritual needs, respectful of diverse beliefs, culture and values, especially in times of crisis and towards the end of life. They will provide and participate in prayer, hospital liturgies and or reflection times with patients, families and staff. Pastoral Care Workers work alongside medical, nursing, allied health and other staff to provide a holistic approach to healing in Calvary services.
The Pastoral Care team promotes and respects the vision, mission and values of Calvary and ensures that our values of hospitality, healing, stewardship and respect are reflected in all duties.
What you bring
  • at least one unit of CPE or equivalent qualification
  • Recent experience in pastoral care or hospital-based Pastoral Care
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Demonstrated ability to practice within scope of pastoral care role
  • Demonstrated sound written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation.
Be mindful that this is not a Personal Carer position.
