This role requires the consultant to deliver quality HR Risk Management services to LGIS members designed around protecting the Workcare Scheme through the prevention and management of psychological injury claims and ensuring best practice delivery on human resources matters.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Delivery of Professional HR Risk Management Services –

  • Provide support, advice and services to assist clients to develop and implement a proactive approach to workforce risk management in order to minimise workers compensation claims.
  • Provision of organisation wide or tailored systems, people and process audits, gap analysis, strategies, consultation and facilitation
  • Assist clients to identify and address workforce management issues by providing independent and current best practice advice on HR policy and procedure design, leadership, change management and organisational development.
  • Continuous improvement to enhance the program based on members feedback and understanding of trending risk issues.

Stakeholder Engagement -

  • Establish strong working relationships ensuring effective engagement with staff at all levels within member / client organisations.
  • Positive member feedback on timely and effective delivery of HR Risk management services.

Internal Collaboration -

  • Effective collaboration with Workcare Services Manager, Claims consultants, Allied Health & OSH teams.
  • Establish strong working relationships with key staff of other business units to ensure all risk financing and management needs of member organisations are met in a co-ordinated manner.

Training & Development –

  • Relevant ongoing professional development and maintaining of accreditations.
  • Participation in half yearly and annual review meetings with Manager.

We would like you to have:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in human resources, organisational development, leadership, workplace / human behaviours, team development and conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of current Human Resource legislative requirements
  • Project management skills
  • Advanced mediation skills.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Advanced presentation and facilitation skills
  • Computer literacy including skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint & Outlook
  • Ability to work under pressure and reliability to ensure deadlines are met through effective time management
  • Knowledge of the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act & Regulations (desirable)

Qualifications



  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Organisational Psychology and / or Human Resources.
  • Practitioners Certificate in Mediation
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment

(The ability to obtain the above Certificates within a set time frame, will be considered.)
