About the role

The Head of Procurement and Sourcing role is an essential leadership role reporting to Chief Procurement Officer. Responsible for leading all procurement, sourcing, inventory and warehouse for the Simec Mining and Liberty Primary Steel Business across all Australian operations.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • People leadership and capability development
  • Safety leadership
  • Accountability for Contracts, Procurement, Inventory, Category Management and Warehousing functions
  • Successful delivery of major continuous improvement programs
  • Strategy, governance, policy and standards
  • Supplier management and development

About your experience

You will have a thorough understanding procurement, preferably including international experience with a proven success in managing this function at a director level.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant procurement or commercial field highly regarded
  • Proven experience of leading a function of this level
  • Astute commercial awareness
  • Highly developed negotiation, influencing and dispute resolution skills
  • Executive leadership skills and strong ethical standards
  • Ability to drive high performance and direct efficient and robust process
  • Be innovative and strategic
