About the Role

As a Bfriend Community worker you will be assisting the LGBTIQA+ community members to feel safer and more secure in their expression of self especially for those who are newly identifying or questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. You will develop and facilitate training to organisations, learning institutions and community groups that assist LGVTIQA+ community members in addition to operating a web based community hub providing information on LGBTIQA+ groups, events, advocacy, political changes and more.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the below essential criteria; qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Psychology, Social Work, Social Science or equivalent
  • Professional experience in the delivery of support services for LGBTIQA+ community members.
  • Knowledge of client engagement approaches for disadvantaged and isolated clients
  • Ability to communicate and engage with a wider range of people
