Take ownership of the improvement projects, influence across the department and within schools and make a positive impact for teachers and students.

The Department for Education is delivering new schools, major building upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every child has access to high-quality education facilities. The largest and most significant investment in public education infrastructure in the history of South Australia, the strategy includes a major $1.3 billion investment in better school facilities, planned upgrades to more than 100 school and preschools, 4 brand new schools to be established across the state, as well as connecting every school, teacher and student to high-speed fibre optic cable by 2021. A Business Improvement Specialist is sought to play a key role in the identification and delivery of business improvement projects across the South Australian education system.

As a key member of the Business Improvement function, you will lead, manage and coordinate the delivery of projects for both corporate and school staff across the department. Proactively partnering with key stakeholders such as senior leaders, school principals and preschool directors, you will apply lean principles and whole of systems thinking to identify opportunities and work with multi-disciplinary teams to facilitate the redesign and implementations of systems and processes to improve the end user experience.

With the ability to think differently, you will have significant experience in driving the identification and implementation of business improvement programs. Additional experience in the delivery of change management activities across complex and geographically separated organisations, you will have a passion for workshop facilitation, process mapping and business analysis. A natural and agile influencer, you will hold strong stakeholder management skills and enjoy being front facing leading the process improvement agenda. Relevant tertiary qualifications are essential and further training in Six Sigma would be advantageous.
