Temporary, part-time up until 18 January 2022

20 hours per week, working three days per week:

Wednesday (11am to 4pm with no break or 11am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute unpaid break),

Thursday and Friday (8am to 4pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break).

Days and hours are non-negotiable

Working as part of the Community Capacity Building team, you will be responsible for liaising with key stakeholders and working on initiatives to promote cultural and artistic pursuits in the City. You will have a strong focus on the City’s major events, as well as involvement in other cultural and arts projects and programs including the City’s art collection and public art, while fostering an inclusive and creative environment for culture and arts to thrive.

You are an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who supports community spirit and possesses sound written and verbal communication skills. You are experienced in working with non-for-profit organisations and event providers and in particular within cultural and arts related programs and events. Your administration skills are well developed and you have additional skills regarding budgeting and planning for community based initiatives. Additionally, you have previous experience in developing funding submissions, measuring and communicating social outcomes of relevant programmes; maintaining reports and bulletins; and forecasting, developing and monitoring budgets.

You have experience in Community Development with a culture and arts focus, event management experience and a relevant qualification in these fields.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria in your application (please limit your response to three pages in total):

  1. Degree in Community Development, Arts or related field
  2. Demonstrated experience in Community Development/community capacity building theory, principles and practices with a culture and arts focus.
  3. Sound event project management skills including research, planning, marketing, delivery and evaluations of culture and arts related programmes, events and initiatives.
  4. Sound verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to be able to prioritise work, multi-task, manage and deliver events and programs co-currently in a fast paced environment.
  6. Excellent interpersonal, public relations and facilitation skills including public speaking, presentation and ability to communicate and relate to relevant stakeholders.
  7. Experience in financial management through budgets and programme delivery
  8. Proficient in the use of Microsoft computer software

We are offering a cash salary of $79,408 per annum, pro-rata, and:
