Job Description

Few employers match the variety and interest of business systems in Local Government. From firefighting to festivals, we provide services in major infrastructure, tourism, sport and recreation, cultural services, economic development and health and community services.

The City of Swan is part way through its One Council digital transformation project involving the implementation of Technology One’s (T1) ERP system. Over the next few years, the City will complete its transition to T1 by migrating from its existing Pathway Property & Rating system.

The Role

The Business Intelligence Developer is part of the Business Solutions team within our Information Services Department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with business representatives to develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions primarily for the Pathway system.
  • Taking a lead role in developing the team’s understanding and expertise in the use of T1’s analytics and dashboard functionality.
  • Helping the Department to progress its broader data and analytics capability.

The opportunity

Key Experience

  • Data analysis and reporting design experience in an enterprise application environment
  • Substantial support and enhancement experience with reporting and data analytics for ERP systems
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft SQL development
  • Experience with advanced Microsoft Excel data analysis and Microsoft BI tools – SSRS, SSIS, SSAS (Tabular Models) is highly desirable
  • Skills in researching and implementing new technologies
  • Good business relationship skills able to engage with end users in understanding and addressing their business issues and opportunities
  • Ability to self-manage work schedule and prioritisation in line with Corporate priorities and objectives
  • An effective team member keen to interact with other like-minded professionals
  • Ability to service customer support requests in a timely and professional manner
