This is a three (3) month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 3, 2021 with possible twelve (12) month extension and/or permanency

Como Secondary College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Library Officer to join their team.

The successful applicant will have a great knowledge of books and reading is a passion to be able to refer the students to books to read. You will develop and support the day-to-day operations of the library and provision of reference, information and associated services to teaching staff and students.

The successful applicant should have excellent customer service, meet deadlines and work well within a team environment. You will model effective and quality customer and administrative support service delivery and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work in collaboration with teachers, students, school support staff and our school community.

The successful applicant would have the skills to competently work independently without supervision or direction in this role with an excellent focus on team work. You must be able to assemble and arrange displays of books and other library materials to enhance lending and awareness of available resources ensuring an inviting environment is maintained. Ideally, you will possess experience with budgets and the protocols required for maintaining financial records.

The successful applicant will possess good verbal and written communication skills, including application of customer service principles and practises and good interpersonal skills with the ability to work unsupervised and in a team environment. Ideally, you will possess the ability to use computers and a range of application software packages, particularly databases, spread sheets and word processing with experience in providing administrative support with the ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively. Experience using Amlib and Bookit would be highly desirable.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy.   • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
