About the role

An exciting opportunity for a Procurement Lead to join the Procurement and Category Management (PCM) team on a 18-month fixed term contract.

As part of the PCM team you will help develop, implement and manage whole of Victorian Government procurement strategies, initiatives and relationships impacting on whole of Victorian Government spend on non-ICT goods and services. The PCM team manages a diverse range of projects and initiatives with a wide-ranging mix of stakeholders from across Victorian Government Departments and agencies, industry groups and suppliers of goods and services.

The key accountabilities are:

  • Lead selected category management activities to facilitate effective outcomes for aggregated Victorian Government purchasing arrangements.
  • Undertake ongoing contract management of State Purchase Contracts including the monitoring of performance targets and other key deliverables
  • Responsible for key activities in relation to the sourcing of State Purchase Contracts including the application of Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies
  • Proactively contribute to the development and achievement of team deliverables, goals and strategies
  • Contribute to the development of policies, procedures and process improvements to maximise the efficient and effective delivery of the Procurement and Category Management team deliverables.

About you

As our ideal candidate, you will be required to demonstrate

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, with an ability to clearly articulate outcomes, listen to customers / clients / stakeholders and address their requirements within agreed time frames
  • Ability to undertake end to end contract management including the monitoring of supplier performance, engaged with contract business owners and to proactively identify improvement opportunities and/or under-performance
  • Sourcing and category management experience with an ability to apply procurement policies, standards and guidelines in effective manner
  • Strong stakeholder relationship skills with an ability to develop collaborative effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
