Your new opportunity:

We're on an exciting journey to provide exceptional experiences for our members online. Reporting to the Manager Editor, Digital Channels, this role provides a fantastic opportunity to promote user-centred design and great outcomes for our website and mobile app. You'll create high-quality, informative and accessible content - from writing copy for quote journeys and helping shape innovative digital projects, to championing readability and strengthening SEO performance. This is not your usual content role but is full of opportunity in a growing team.

As a member of our team, you will have responsibility for:

  • Regularly reviewing and updating all content to drive increased conversion, best member experience and business objectives;
  • Championing and owning SEO, content accessibility and information architecture;
  • Brainstorming and proactively generating innovative and relevant ideas that will drive engagement and achievement of digital goals for our applications;
  • Collaborating with the Digital Content team and broader Digital team, to identify, track and report content metrics and benchmarks for digital products and features based on business goals, best practice and key moments in the customer journey;
  • Responding to in-bound content requests and working with the broader Digital team to meet business needs;
  • Contributing to the planning, development and implementation of annual Digital Content team's business plans and budgets; and,
  • Delivering exceptional and professional service to members and internal/external customers by identifying, responding to and satisfying their needs.

This role does not involve social media management or writing long form articles.

What will set you apart from the rest:

At RAA we hire on cultural fit first and technical fit second! However, to be successful in the role you will need to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing, media, communications, journalism or a related field; and/or additional studies and/or experience in copy writing is desirable;
  • Exposure to and working knowledge of visual design applications, including Photoshop and Illustrator;
  • Demonstrated experience creating multimedia content for a range of channels and styles - including writing copy, producing fact sheets, basic image editing and video production;
  • Strong understanding of modern journalism principles and techniques, and writing for different text types;
  • Strong understanding of SEO principles and strategies to enable improvement; and
  • An understanding of design thinking, Agile and Lean UX methods including design sprints is advantageous.

Your strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, together with your excellent stakeholder engagement and great attention to detail, will see you succeed in this role. Additionally, your solid problem-solving skills, commitment to achieve planned outcomes and ability to turn complex content into easy-to-understand information will further add to your success.
