Period of employment / Hours:

Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

The Executive Officer supports the Secretary and Deputy Secretary by providing high level executive support, including:
  • Coordinating the preparation of complex and confidential documentation and undertaking research for ministerial correspondence or other matters related to the portfolio responsibilities of the Agency.
  • The development and maintenance of protocols to ensure an efficient flow of information to and from the Secretary and Deputy Secretary’s offices.
  • Building productive and professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders including other Executive Officers across Government, members of the Agency Executive and their Executive Officers, Ministerial Offices and Managers across the Agency.
  • Organising consultation and liaison with community sector organisations and representative groups.

Selection criteria includes:

  • Proven experience in and understanding of the provision of executive support services, including analytical and critical thinking skills in a highly complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, judgment, sensitivity and discretion with the capability to interpret and analyse information and identify and resolve operational administration issues.
  • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, together with the proven ability to negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders whilst maintaining confidentiality.
