This role report to Technology Manager and is responsible for following:

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems, laptops, desktops, security tools, core applications, servers, email systems, software, and hardware
  • Daily management of communications strategies ensuring consistent and effective communications across all Group locations in Australia. This incorporates communications within existing and future mobile environments such as wireless internet and mobile technology.
  • Assist with service desk and support functions, including provision of hands-on assistance to the user-community in respect of applications and/or hardware issues
  • Ensure the operational availability of Windows Servers and associated applications and information e.g. VMWare, SAN/NAS, domain controllers and backups
  • Protection of daily data integrity through implementation of Network backup procedures and network communication logs, including administration of Cisco firewall
  • Protection of data security through administration of virus and anti-spam software across all network locations and Group portable electronic equipment
  • Administration, action and resolution of Group helpdesk requirements arising from IT users across all customers of the Group
  • Effective management of the Groups software licensing requirements through licensing partners (i.e. Microsoft) and implementation of new software versions as required.
  • Rollout of new corporate desktop images as required for new users, hardware replacements and additional remote location setups.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the quality framework (including all policies and processes that relate to the workscope of their team) and ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with that framework

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Strong focus on delivering exceptional service to the user community - must want to help solve people's problems
  • Able to communicate with (and provide assistance to) a diverse user community
  • Effective time management skills
  • Ability to cope with changing priorities
  • Flexible with respect to working hours and work locations

Skills:

  • Proven trouble-shooting and problem resolution skills
  • Previous work in environments utilising Microsoft Windows environments / Server 2012, 2016, 2019 environments / Office 365
  • Strong knowledge of monitoring tools
  • Experience in SAN/NAS storage technology
  • Experience in Active Directory/Group Policy/DNS/DHCP/VPN Administration
  • Experience in telephony, PABX, wireless, mobile technology
  • Experience with storage administration, SQL Server, IT security, disaster recovery, web technologies and Cisco firewalls
  • Experience with delivery of security and remote location protocols
  • Experience with scripting via PowerShell
