We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Project Accountant in our team based in Williamtown, New South Wales. This role offers one year fixed term contract, but there is potential for a longer term role as the business is in a growth phase.
Despite COVID-19, we have a strong pipeline of job opportunities and we are still hiring. We're continuing to provide the Australian Defence Force with what they need to help protect the nation. About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Accounting Manager – F35, you will be responsible to maintain the financial functions within our aircraft sustainment and training program ensuring that the integrity and transparency of financial data to facilities planning and decision making.

More specifically, you will become involved in:

* Partnering with integrated project teams to provide timely and relevant financial advice
* Prepare and review monthly project reporting, including contract status reviews, business unit reviews, project status reports, project profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flows
* Prepare and review variance reporting versus prior forecast and budgets, work in progress management and cost and revenue accruals
* Prepare and review project reconciliations and “true-up” processes
* Coordinate finance inputs into estimate at completion processes and operate/maintain and improve budgeting and forecasting process for projects
* Oversee project billing and subcontractor payments and provide input to project risk management processes including maintenance of finance related risk registers
* Ensure robust project accounting system is implemented/maintained and the compliance of corporate guideline and procedures as well as accounting and auditing standards in accordance with terms and conditions within the commonwealth of Australia

About you
As an ideal applicant for this opportunity, you'll have:

* Degree and CPA/CA/CIMA qualification or working towards the qualification
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in project finance in large and complex project environment
* Sound knowledge of budgeting and forecasting with a solution oriented mindset
* Well-developed self-management skills, ability to work under his/her own initiative to prioritise and meet deadlines, engage with stakeholders within and outside his/her immediate team to deliver business requirements
* Microsoft Office skills are essential and exposure to Oracle ERP is desirable
