About the role

In this role your duties will involve:

  • undertaking analysis, evaluation and preparing reports, as required, on the environmental impacts of nationally significant projects
  • interpret and apply the EPBC Act
  • producing high-quality written materials for a range of audiences, including briefs and correspondence, meeting papers, technical documentation, and web content
  • contributing high-level expertise to support strategic direction and planning relevant to your Section, Branch and the Division
  • contributing to management activities relevant to the team, including stakeholder management, scheduling, monitoring, evaluation, risk, issues management, project management, and reporting

Skills and Experience

We are seeking experienced and high performing applicants who demonstrate they will/do:

  • successfully support and lead small teams, managing competing priorities
  • research, analyse, evaluate and implement project or program initiatives, and deliver outcomes within specified timeframes
  • possess strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and able to represent the organisation in stakeholder negotiations, including state and national forums
  • build and sustain productive working relationships, internally and externally
  • display a commitment toward continuous improvement.
  • Experience in regulatory systems and/or in environmental assessments and approvals under Parts 7-9 and 10 of the EPBC Act may be an advantage.
