The Role:

We are currently seeking an ICT Infrastructure & Operations Engineer to support our growing IT Team and be a leading Subject Matter Expert within our business.

Working autonomously in the iconic Swan Brewing Co. building in Perth you will provide leadership and support to our organisation, whilst working with our offsite IT team (based in Harvey, WA) to define and implement the infrastructure elements of the ICT systems and networks.

This role will ultimately design, test and implement routine installations and operations of ICT hardware and software, including servers, storage, security, network components and IoT devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage conflicting and/or concurrent hardware upgrades, and/or refresh projects and programs.
  • Ensure that documentation of the implementations is created, maintained and available in an appropriate form for those providing support.
  • Working on production and staging environments - monitoring and configuration management, as well as disaster recovery planning, capacity engineering, reliability improvement initiatives and platform automation.
  • Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a live production environment.
  • Provide performance tuning recommendations.
  • Scripting and software development across one or more programming languages to automate processes.
  • Monitoring distributed systems application architectures.
  • Enhance availability, performance and stability of services as well as automating repetitive work.
  • Investigate and pre-empt issues in our cloud and local services.
  • Working closely with the project/development team on future work and to improve current systems.

About you:

You will have a sound understanding of Information Technology and Operational Technology and be able to provide specialist guidance to your colleagues ensuring best use is made of available assets and guide on improvements of installation services.

This role will suit a self-motivated and determined leader with excellent communication skills ready to take on your next challenge in the ICT industry.

Essential Criteria:

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior role
  • Suitable qualifications and a degree in IT and/or relevant certifications e.g., Cisco, VMWare, and Microsoft
  • Advanced knowledge in systems infrastructure, networking, monitoring, and supporting tools.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of troubleshooting techniques, attention to detail, initiative, accountability, and a sense of ownership.
  • Proven ability to keep up to date with infrastructure technologies, security, and trends within the industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of team and unsupervised to deliver initiatives on time.
  • Possession of a current Class C Driver’s License
  • Available after hours and weekends as required to help maintain uptime on infrastructure.
  • Able to travel interstate as required by the role.
