The Opportunity.

Reporting to the Director Regional Development, this opportunity will see you work collaboratively with the team to implement the Gascoyne Development Commission's communications strategies/initiatives and projects.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to use the latest tools, technologies and techniques in the context of creation, content development, and editorial planning for the Gascoyne Development Commission as required.

The Ideal Candidate.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in complex environments to develop and implement communication strategies and projects. The successful candidate will be able to supervise the production of communication tools, and have good communication skills to be able to engage with key stakeholders and navigate contentious issues. We are seeking someone who can consistently apply our brand to ensure the visual identity of the Gascoyne Development Commission is easily recognisable and reflects the agency's contribution to regional development.

To be eligible for a permanent appointment to the Western Australian public sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent residency status in Australia. To be eligible for a fixed term or a casual appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia for the period of the contract and this is required as part of your application.

Subject to appointment, successful applicants will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy before commencing employment;
  • obtain and provide a current National Police Certificate (police clearance) before commencing employment;
  • provide a tertiary qualification in Communications/Media/Journalism/Public Relations or a related discipline
  • complete the Department's induction program within three months of commencement.

Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from approval of the initial recruitment decision
