Senior Finance Business Partner

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. Forensicare is situated across five sites across Victoria with its largest site being Thomas Embling Hospital, located in Fairfield just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne CBD.

About the role:

The role will lead the development of the organisation’s annual operating budget to ensure strategic objectives of the organisation are met, complete periodic forecasts and reporting and provide detailed monthly and yearly analysis on the financial performance along with associated reporting; while acting as a finance business partner to Executives and cost centre managers across the organisation.

Duties:

  • Partner with executive and senior managers to support them in delivering on Forensicare’s strategic goals within sound financial parameters
  • Contribute to the development of business cases, costings and CAPEX requests
  • Partner with the business to provide regular financial information, analysis and reporting to all divisions within the business, including Executive and Board reporitng
  • Develop and establish required reporting tools including resourcing, plans and performance triggers to inform the Program planning and budgetary process
  • Proactively build relationships based on trust, understanding and respect with key stakeholders within the Executive, Senior Management and staff of the Organisation

Skills and experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in finance and accounting and CPA or CA member
  • Demonstrated skills and experience as a Senior Finance Business Partner with the capacity to work autonomously and as a member of a team to deliver outcomes and solve problems
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and maintain robust partnership relationships, with an ability to work effectively with senior colleagues, including at Forensicare’s Executive level
  • Ability to effectively lead a small team to meet deliverables and strive for continual process improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills especially with Microsoft Excel and ability to produce concise and understandable recommendations from it
