We currently have an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join Canterbury Bankstown Council’s Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre team as a Duty Manager (temporary full time).

The purpose of this role is to deliver a quality customer service experience to the users of the Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre, to assist with bookings and competition management, staff supervision and office administration.

The starting Salary for this role is $61,966 (Grade D Step 1) plus 9.5% super

Some of the duties with this role will include:

  • Staff supervision in the absence of the Team Leader
  • Effectively deal with an extensive range of enquiries in an environment that can be fast-paced and challenging.
  • Manage and continuously review Centre policies and processes
  • Work collaboratively to develop new programs with a focus on Sport, Leisure and Health.
  • Manage and maintain professional standards within our sports competitions by maintaining draws, registrations and records.
  • Ensure a positive customer experience through a high level of public relations and customer service to all users, including handling customer complaints and feedback.

Essential criteria:

  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Working with Children's Check
  • Experience in customer service environment and excellent customer service skills
  • Experience working in a recreational facility or similar environment.
  • Experience in staff supervision
  • Experience using a Point Of Sale system, reporting and balancing
  • Administration experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Desirable Essential criteria:

  • Experience with bookings of a facility or similar
  • Experience in competition management
  • Experience in children’s programming
