Genesis Care Queensland have exciting opportunities for Non-Interventional Cardiologist's to join our Wide Bay Centres and be a driving force in the delivery of Cardiology treatment with options to join either our Hervey Bay or Bundaberg practices.

The purpose of the position is to provide specialist Cardiology skills and care to a broad spectrum of patients with Cardiology ailments. To participate/contribute to the collegial team in aspects of research and clinical practice. The Cardiologist will have responsibility for the care of general Cardiology private patients, inpatients and outpatients.

What you'll do:

  • Work in close collaboration and provide a consultative service to senior technical & nursing staff in the general wards, Cardiology ward, ICU, Coronary Care Unit and other units to ensure high quality cardiac care is provided to all patients within the practice/hospital.
  • Participation in on call roster, session roster, consultations on a private "Out" patient basis, exercise stress tests, other tests as required.
  • Participation in the reporting roster for cardiac tests according to sub-specialties (Transthoracic, Trans-oesophageal and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiograms, Exercise Stress Tests, ECG's, Holter Monitors, Event Monitors, Blood Pressure Monitors (all of which are performed by our Cardiology Service).
  • Participate in the regular review of staff rostering, opening hours, appointment schedules, waiting lists and report turn-around times in order to improve service value, drive demand and maximize efficiencies and productivity across the practice.
  • Work collaboratively with the technicians, practice managers and administration staff to develop formal communication strategies for the clinic to inform, educate, update and direct staff on clinic and business initiatives and facilitate their feedback and input, including scheduling regular clinic team meetings.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of clinic marketing and revenue growth initiatives, including medical liaison and referrer relationship marketing, service mix management and pricing changes.
  • Participate in the monitoring of referrer activity and support business activities to drive referrals and enhance loyalty, including relevant educational activities as required.
  • Contribute to the planning and Implementation of the establishment of new Clinics.
  • Understand the financial and commercial aspects of the business and focus on diligently managing clinic costs in order to achieve or exceed budget targets.

Who you are:

  • Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australia College of Physicians including subspecialty training and recognition in Cardiology.
  • Experience in a high level of competence in clinical Cardiology and demonstrated participation in CME since qualification.
  • Knowledge of current and emerging health issues and a commitment to ensuring equity of access to quality health care and improving health outcomes for people in the region.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience in liaising, influencing and negotiating with staff at all levels of an organisation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education, teaching, research, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and an ability to provide excellent patient care and stakeholder customer service.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in leading & managing a team by inspiring confidence in and displaying behaviours in accordance with the organisation's values.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in the development of local business plans to meet the objectives of the practice and its principals.
  • A current and satisfactory National Police Record Check and a Hepatitis B immunization is a condition of employment for all GenesisCare employees who have direct patient contact, as well as those staff who, in the course of their work, may be exposed to blood or body fluids.
