Synergy’s work environment is geographically distributed, with employees working from home offices. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a virtual office using online collaboration tools for all communication and interaction in English.

We are looking for exceptional DevOps Engineers to work with our cross-functional team and join our world-class community of talented experts in the exciting field of sports technology. This role will join our global team that is responsible for optimizing and maintaining Linux systems and respective software packages. These systems deliver automated Sports Productions from sports arenas all over the world.

Note: This is a fully remote job and your physical location can be anywhere in Australia.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementing best practices for a global distributed server architecture
  • Optimizing, maintaining and troubleshooting Linux systems on a global level
  • Optimizing and simplifying server installation processes
  • Working with implementation and support teams to troubleshoot issues on server deployments
  • Maintain video delivery up time and reliability from sports arenas to the internet

Requirements

  • 3+ years’ experience in similar roles
  • Bachelor degree in IT or equivalent by experience
  • Be autonomous, a team-player with a positive mindset
  • Working proficiency in English
  • Communicate well between different business units/stakeholders eg. dev, ops, customer
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration
  • Strong networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VPN, DHCP/DNS, Firewalling. Ability to debug a network issue.
  • Server automation/Scripting: Bash/Python, Management configuration system eg Ansible
  • Logging and monitoring experience: eg Fluent, ELK, Prometheus
  • Knowledge of best practices of IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
